Athletic knocked out of the Premier League International Cup
The Cubs still have one match left to play, but they no longer have any mathematical chance of advancing to the next stage after suffering their third defeat of the competition against Sunderland

Athletic Club was knocked out of this year's Premier League International Cup after losing 7-1 to Sunderland AFC on their third match day. This result highlights the superiority of the English team, which had more experienced players in its ranks, while the young Lions competed with a team made up mainly of players from the youth team, but also from Basconia and Bilbao Athletic.
The home side sealed the match early on. By the 25th minute, they were already 3-0 up thanks to goals from Waters, Jones and Tuterov. Vizcay narrowed the gap shortly afterwards, but Neil immediately extended the lead and just before half-time Waters scored his second.
After the break, the English side continued to dominate. Cirkin and Middlemas set the final score. The Bizkaia team could have made it look better, but failed to convert their chances. With this defeat, Athletic Club is out of the Premier League International Cup. Even so, the experience of facing Premier League reserve teams — most of which feature more experienced players — is very valuable for the young Zurigorris, who are gaining experience and continuing to grow in their development. On 3rd December, they will conclude their participation with a visit to West Ham.
