Athletic Club Under-21s beat Blackburn Rovers to qualify for the quarter-finals
The Cubs defeated the English side 1-2 to book a place in the next phase of the Premier League International Cup

Athletic Club are through to the quarter-finals of the Premier League International Cup. Our under-21 side, this time led by Bittor Llopis and Iraia Iturregi, and made up of players from Bilbao Athletic and CD Basconia, achieved a 1-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers thanks to goals from Asier Hierro and Iker Monreal.
Wednesday night's win at Accrington Stanley's Wham Stadium ensured the Cubs move onto the next phase of the tournament after finishing second in their group.
The Zurigorri youngsters remain undefeated in England this season, picking up a 2-2 draw against Sunderland FC, the same score against West Ham United and a 4-0 triumph over Middlesbrough FC.
With November's match against Rovers called off due to intense fog, the Cubs returned to north west England for round two, securing their place in the final eight courtesy of a Monreal header in the 91st minute.
The other sides in the quarter finals are: Valencia CF, Nottingham Forest, Olympique Lyon, FC Nordsjælland, Fulham, Brighton and Sporting CP.
