Agreements of the Governing Board

The president Ignacio Ugartetxe held a press conference to explain the decisions adopted and the most important matters dealt with in the course of the board meeting. These are as follows:

1- After the cession of 15% of the salaries for the season 2002-2003 by the components of the first team, the deficit for the season is 1.9 million Euros.

2- The budget for the season 2002-2003 will be around 34 million Euros.

3- The increase in the membership dues will be 8%.

4- The governing board intends to put publicity on the uniform of the first team. The objective is to obtain income to balance the budget and that this effort should be borne as little as possible by the membership.

5- The governing board proposes cancelling the “days of the club”. The alternative will be studied in detail and presented to the member’s representatives in the Ordinary General Meeting to be held on 27th September in the Euskalduna Palace.

6- There will also be a presentation of the project for the new stadium to the member’s representatives. Meanwhile the club has presented its allegations with respect to the Basurto-Olabeaga Plan so that the project for the new staium has sufficient space for building a stadium with a capacity for 55,000 people.
