The player Aitor Karanka, after the exploration performed yesterday morning at the Lezama Facilities, has undergone a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance at the Clinica San Francisco Javier (Bilbao), in which a tear of the anterior crossed ligaments of his left knee and a distension of the external lateral ligament were appraised.
Subsequently, he was examined by Doctor Mikel Sanchez in Gasteiz and it has been decided that the player undergo surgery to reconstruct the affected ligament. This operation, by arthroscopy, will take place within approximately one month at the Clinica USP La Esperanza in Gasteiz. The medical leave in these cases is estimated to be between 6 and 8 months.
