Telefónica and Athletic Club have renewed their collaborative agreement, which has been in force over the last three seasons. In accordance with the new agreement reached; Telefónica will have considerable advertising space both at the San Mamés football field and at the facilities in Lezama. Furthermore, Telefónica are entitled to use either of these Athletic Club facilities for promotional purposes. In addition, Imagenio, which is Telefónica’s new digital TV service, will be one of the leading products that the company will be promoting in their advertising campaign.
Telefónica will continue to be one of Athletic Club’s main suppliers of telecommunications products and services. In fact, over the last few years Telefónica has provided Athletic Club with all kinds of advanced telecommunication services. As a result Athletic Club has been a pioneer when it comes to incorporating Telefónica’s Wide-Band (ASDL line) to its existing system. Telefónica has made the interconnection of all the club’s facilities possible i.e. Ibaigane Headquarters, San Mamés, Shops, the facilities in Lezama and this has been done via the use of Net-LAN (private virtual network), which is based on ASDL technology and allows the entire club to develop its activities by sharing its resources and available information securely. What’s more, the Press Conference Room at San Mamés was the first in the Premier League to have the Wide-Band equipment installed, which was installed in order to speed up and facilitate the work done by the media.
The renewal of this agreement with Athletic Club reaffirms Telefónica’s link to one of the most popular institutions of the area. Their objectives are as follows; to have closer ties with their clients and support local cultural and sporting events. Moreover, Telefónica has made a commitment with regards to making sure the club has all the latest technology, as this is of the utmost importance with regards to our club’s administration. The new agreement was signed at Ibaigane Headquarters by Athletic Club President, Fernando Lamikiz and Telefónica’s Territorial Manager, Oscar Alegría.
