Mr. Jose Maria Núñez has presented an extension to the lawsuit directed personally against Athletic Club president, Mr. Fernando Garcia Macua, as the person, joint and severally, responsible for the amounts that the employee demands from the organization for the possible serious breach of its obligations as a company and for damages that, he maintains, this has caused to his personal dignity as well as for the physical and moral damages he is allegedly suffering.

The trial, previously scheduled for tomorrow at noon, has been postponed until further notice, given that the plaintiff has requested that both lawsuits be joined, in addition to the above mentioned lawsuit extension.

Altogether, the amounts requested by Mr. Núñez amount to 1,151,518.16 Euros, an amount which the Board of directors does not feel legitimized to pay as it exceeds that contemplated in labour legislation.

The Board of directors maintains its position to put to a vote the demands interposed by Mr. Núñez at the Ordinary General Assembly Meeting to be held this coming 25 October, and in its case, the settling and corresponding payment of the ironclad amounts or continue defending its position and let the courts decide.

Likewise, the Board of directors regrets this new step taken by Mr. Núñez who is trying to personalize in the organization’s president a decision that should be made by the Board and its members and whose ultimate objective is the elimination of ironclad agreements, as a contractual practice, in the benefit of the Club itself and all its associates.
