Show of support for Armando

Athletic Club and on behalf of its player Armando Ribeiro de Aguiar, would like to express their gratitude for the enormous amount of support received as a result of the aggression which Armando was subject to during last Saturday’s Real Betis-Athletic Club match, the club has received support from institutions associated with the football world, for example the Profession Football League/Liga de Fútbol Profesional, several clubs and several sporting companies. In addition we should emphasize that we have also received support from members and fans of Real Betis Balompié.

Similarly, Athletic Club would like to express its concern and, also its solidarity to the members of the media concerning the treatment they got from some of the local fans whilst carrying out their duties during and at the end of the already mentioned match, so much so that they had to leave the field in Police cars.

Athletic Club believes that it is unacceptable for these professionals to perform their duties under these conditions.
