European jersey presentation

Athletic Club President, Fernando García Macua, the Lehendakari (Basque President), Patxi López, and the President of Petronor, Josu Jon Imaz, were present this morning, at Government HQ, for the presentation of Athletic Club’s new Jersey with the trademark “Euskadi” on it.

The Basque Government will be sponsoring the club by granting 120,000 euros to Athletic for the team to don the image of the Basque Country’s new tourist promotion campaign on their jerseys. This agreement is possible thanks to Petronor who have agreed to loan their publicity space without asking anything in return.

The players will wear this jersey during the elimination round matches against the Belgium team Anderlecht, on 18 and 25 February, as well as during another match which the Board of directors will organize against an international rival. Also, the agreement includes a bonus of 30,000 euros for the participation in each new eliminatory apart from the ones already mentioned, which means an amount of up to 240,000 if the team makes it to the final in Hamburg.
