Commemorative plaque at the English Field

Athletic Club President, Fernando García Macua, and the Mayor of Bilbao, Iñaki Azkuna, will, on Friday 29 April, at Midday, at the old English field, unveil a commemorative plaque where at the end of the XIX century the football seed in Bilbao was germinated which gave rise to Athletic Club’s origin. The plaque has some of Kirmen Uribe’s verses on it, and is located in Abandoibarra between the Guggenheim museum and the Pedro Arrupe footbridge.

The British Consulate in Bilbao Derek Doyle will be attending this event as well as institutional representatives and Board members of both Athletic Club and the Biscayan Football Federation.
