Joachim Schmid “O Campo”

The exhibition ‘O Campo’, by German photographer Joachim Schmid will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 17 January, at 19:30 hours at Sala BBK (Grand Via 19-21).

Co-produced by Athletic Club Fundazioa Foundation and Sala BBK, ‘O Campo’ is made up of twenty photographs taken via satellite with Google Earth of individual Brazilian football grounds, with the particularity that none of them meet the minimum standards when it comes to their design. On the contrary, be it the irregularity of the land on which they are constructed or the urban constrictions of the place where they are located, the football grounds portrayed in ‘O Campo’ force their forms and defy their dimensions to the point of being grotesque imperfections derived from an attempt to approach the platonic ideal form of a regulated football ground.

The exhibition will remain open until 29 February.
