Everything is ready in order to play the match between Manchester United and Athletic Club, corresponding to the 1st leg match of the Round of 16 UEFA Europa League Competition (20:05 -21:05- Old Trafford, Cuatro TV).
On Thursday, 8 March, in accordance with the UEFA norm, an organizational meeting was held at stadium facilities as of 10:30 hours, the meeting was chaired by the UEFA delegate Bert Anderrson, and was attended by the German referee Florian Meyer, linesmen Holger Henschek and Jaan-Hendrick Salver; along with Deniz Aytekin and Markus Wingenbach, additional linesmen, and the fourth referee, Maichel Weiner, all of them being German also.
Among some of the decisions made during this meeting, besides those related to the administrative/ sporting rules and security measures to be followed during the match, was the decision about the uniforms to be worn by both teams. On behalf of Athletic Club, our team will be wearing the green jersey and black shorts and socks, and the goalkeepers will be dressed entirely in light blue. On behalf of United, their players will be donning their red jersey and white shorts and socks, whereas their goalkeepers will wear yellow jerseys, black shorts and yellow socks.
Some 8,000 Athletic Club supporters are expected, who can already be seen in the city streets and near the football field, and about a total of 60,000 spectators in a stadium with a crowd capacity of 74,975.
Grey skies at the moment over Manchester with a temperature of 10 degrees, however from 20:00-22:00 hours it is expected that the temperature will range from 6-7 degrees centigrade.
President Josu Urrutia along with a representation of the travelling board members, have taken part in the joint institutional luncheon with the representatives of United.
