The moment that the club is living with great illusion in the sporting aspect has supposed an enormous increase in the number of visitors to the Museum. With the month of March still to end, the first trimester of 2012 has shown an increase of over 60% with respect to that same period in 2011; with similar number of visitors as in the summer months. This way the museum continues progressing each year, showing Athletic Club’s history to visitors from the Basque Country as well as foreigners.
Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to visit the interior of San Mamés stadium with guided tours to the changing rooms, press room, benches, and even get an up-close look at the lion; and also to take a walk among the club’s trophies, jerseys, boots and other significant memories of our 114 years of history without forgetting the future, that in a scale model form shows what the new San Mamés stadium will look like. In addition, at this time they will be able to experience the temporary exhibition ‘Un siglo de cromos’; ‘Lezama, el corazón del Athletic’ (“A year in cards/stickers”; “Lezama, the heart of Athletic”) and the exhibition by photographer Juan Flor.
