The Athletic Club Women’s team has been unable to maintain the undefeated run one more matchday as it was defeated by Atlético Madrid Féminas by two-nil; thanks to the goals by Rocio and Amanda, both scored in the second half.

The first half ended goalless. Juan Luis Fuentes’ players had the best opportunities in the first few minutes of play. In the minute 6, Eunate took the corner kick, Irene extended and V. Gimbert barely missed wide off the far post. A minute later, it was Iraia who tried with a direct free-kick. In the 10th, the captain crossed and Y. Corres’ header was off-target.

The match entered a phase of very little game and few goal occasions. Atlético Madrid only approached Ainhoa’s area in set pieces; in the 40th Angela Sosa tried from a direct free-kick that, after beating the barrier, Ainhoa stopped.

In the second half, Erika pardoned in the 56th, in a counterattack that Lola stopped. Three minutes later, Y. Corres’ shot was sent to corner by the local goalie. In the m. 64, the referee signalled a somewhat disputed hand by Eunate, which brought about Atlético Madrid’s goal; the free kick would end up in a corner and Rocio gave the locals the lead from Maria Leon’s corner serve. The reaction did not arrive and in the 80th, Dévora centred from the left wing and Amanda, with a header, scored the second and with it all options to remain undefeated dissipated in Cerro del Espino.
