Athletic Club’s Women’s team has returned from Huelva with a victory thanks to the Paulina’s own-goals, and Nekane. Joseba Agirre’s squad managed to take the lead in the minute 7: Ibarra centred from the left band and Paulita, in an attempt to ward off the rojiblanco closing to the far post, sent the ball in her own goal.

The match carried on without clear goal occasions. Jenny had the first option for the locals in the minute 19, but she crossed the ball in excess. The locals looked to equalize from set plays before the defensive security of the rojiblanca rear. In the 27, Iraia centred to the area and Nekane, with a header, increased the advantage. At the final moments of the first half, Jenny tried to trim the visitor’s advantage with another finish, but before reaching the break it was Paredes who could have scored a third with a header from a corner serve.

In the second half, in view of the lack of goal occasions, the locals hardened the game and tried to get the rojiblancas to enter that dynamic, but Agirre’s squad stayed back and Nekane, in the 61, finished off with a header in the clearest goal occasion of the second half, however, Sara parried the ball off to corner. Ibarra was injured in the following play and she had to abandon the pitch. The minutes passed with a lot of exchanges and great control by the rojiblanco team that managed to finish a new game away from Lezama without allowing any goals, and that makes three.
