UE Llagostera defeated Bilbao Athletic 2-1 at Nou Estadi de Palamós. Aketxe’s goal has been overcome by the opponents with an own goal of Yeray and the score by Benja. It has been a terrible blow for the filial team’s hopes, and not only because of the final result, mainly due to the way it happened.

The third step to avoid relegation was close during some stages of the game. The visiting team bossed the game from the very first minute although the hosts put pressure on the last ten minutes of the first half. The feeling at the break was Bilbao Athletic had given all to lead the scoreboard.

In the opening of the second half, following the same way of game, Aketxe scored an awesome left footed goal by the whole team. Llagostera reacted well and as they made the three substitutions they had an unlucky attempt hitting the post. However, Bilbao Athletic still was bossing the match. Villalibre and Seguin, for example, had couple of great chances to score the second goal.

During the middle of the second half, just when the free kick struck by Aketxe hit the crossbar, an adverse play of Yeray trying to clear the ball equalized the game. Afterwards, in the following breakaway play, there was a one on one between Benja and Remiro and the striker finished well.

These horrible two minutes allowed an experienced Llagostera ending the match with a victory. Óscar Gil was shown the second yellow card and he was sent off in an evening to leave behind. It will be fundamental to strengthen as soon as possible. On Saturday Mirandés will be visiting San Mamés.
