Explanation of the press release of the European Commission

In response to the press release issued by the European Commission and due to some misinterpretations made by the media, the research about supposed tax privileges which involves Athletic Club, we would like to clarify:

1. Athletic Club has not been notified by the Commission about any decision. Athletic Club has been provided only with the information published by the press release of the Commission.

2. Athletic Club is a non-profit sports association (this legal nature was chosen by the Members) which has paid the tax obligations according to its nature, always obeying the applicable law.

3. In the particular case of Athletic Club, there are not amounts to be paid back for unpaid taxes, so the decision has not effects on the previous liquidation.

4. Athletic Club will consider all the contents of the decision as soon as it is notified in order to determine which are going to be the next steps to take to defend its interests.
