Kenan Kodro: “This is a prize for me”.

The president of Athletic Club, Aitor Elizegi, accompanied by the sports director, Rafa Alkorta, presented Kenan Kodro (Donostia, 19/08/1993) as the new red-and-white player until 30th June 2022, three and a half seasons. The presentation has taken place in the Jose Iragorri press room of San Mamés and, after, the football player has jumped to the grass dressed with his new red-and-white shirt for the corresponding session of photos.

The Basque forward has affirmed that “physically I am very well, mentally I also feel good” and has added that he hopes that “people value me for the things I have done, for the things I do and for the things I am going to do with Athletic”. Asked about his style of play, Kenan Kodro defines himself “as a player with a lot of movement, very electric, probably the best thing I have is the shot with both legs, but also the claw that I have always shown, to be fighting each ball”, something that also fits perfectly with the game of Gaizka Garitano’s Athletic.

For his part, Aitor Elizegi has highlighted the competitiveness of the League and has considered “that for the coming months so important that we have until the end of the season, the desire that Kodro has to add to our competing way, the desire to join the squad from now and for the next 3 years will come very well”.

Finally, Rafa Alkorta said that the signing of Kenan Kodro “is a good option, Gaizka Garitano also seemed a good reinforcement” and recalled that the center forward “comes at a perfect age, with a plus of experience for having known other leagues and being a Bosnian international. The sports director red-and-white has emphasized that “in Athletic no one covers anyone. Here everyone has the opportunity to add and try to be in the starting eleven. When someone new comes, the competition increases, and the competition is good and makes others better.
