Athletic Club welcomes FC Barcelona with historical objects from its Museum

Todos son presentes entregados por el FC Barcelona al Athletic Club en nuestros aniversarios: 50, 75 y 100 años.

All of them are gifts by FC Barcelona to Athletic Club on our 50th, 75th and 100th anniversaries.

Coinciding with the match of FC Barcelona and in the lunch of directives of both entities, they have been placed in the txoko of Ibaigane different historical objects property of the Athletic Club and its Museum. All of them are related to the team that visits us. The lunch has been headed by the president Aitor Elizegi and by the third blaugrana vice-president, Jordi Moix. Guillermo Amor, head of Institutional and Sports Relations for FC Barcelona was also present.

In this occasion, all are present delivered by the FC Barcelona to the Athletic Club in our anniversaries: 50, 75 and 100 years.

Two are from the 50th anniversary (1948): the Moreneta -Virgin de Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia, which also has a chapel at the exit of changing rooms of the Nou Camp- and the FC Barcelona banner with the date of 1899, its inauguration. It should be noted that both Athletic and Barça at that time were renamed Franco’s regime (Atletico and CF Barcelona instead of FC Barcelona).

The small amphora dates from 1973 on the occasion of Athletic’s 75th anniversary. In that year Athletic had already recovered the original name while FC Barcelona would later recover it.

The tray is the Centenary of Athletic (1998) with a phrase engraved by Josep Lluís Núñez, president of Barça at that time and who has remained in that position longer in the history of the Catalan entity.

In the dining room there was also the painting that the Peña Bailén gave to the president Aitor Elizegi yesterday in the facilities of Lezama. A personalized memory that he received of hands of Paco Mañas, president of the Peña.
