Athletic Club begins with medical tests

This Tuesday July 2, the players of Athletic Club’s first team  have started in the Medical Unit of IMQ Zorrozaurre medical tests prior to the start of the preseason.

With the exception of Iñigo Martínez, Unai Simón and Unai Núñez, who will join later after their international commitments, and Oihan Sancet, called up with the Spanish U-19 team, 28 players will complete the medical-sports examination.

Among the tests that will be carried out, the examination includes an analysis, cineanthropometric assessment of weight, heights and folds; cardiac and lung assessment at rest, maximum stress test with lactate, ultrasound of the heart, isokinetic assessment to measure muscle strength or a biomechanical podiatry study.

The Athletic Club medical staff with Lekue and Angulo will supervise the tests together with the professionals and specialists of the IMQ, the official medical insurance company of the Athletic Club, as both institutions have been doing since the 1998-99 season.
