“We have to turn the match into our own”

Second training session of the week for Athletic Club, four days away from its next league challenge (Sunday, 14.00, San Mamés) against Levante UD. After the session, Mikel San José, who was first team player the last day against Villarreal CF for the first time this season, has appeared before the media: “My feelings were good. I always want to play and what I always try is to be available for the coach when he decides to count on me.”

San José highlighted Athletic’s ability at the Estadio de la Cerámica stadium to face a great opponent: “The best thing about the team was the ability to compete against a team that is proving to be one of the strongest in the league, it is important. We played on the same level the whole match.”

Concerning his next opponents, the red-and-white midfielder underlined his moral boost after the victories of the last two rounds: “They are going to be a complicated opponent, as they have been in recent years. They come from beating the Real away from home and Barça, and sure to come with confidence. It is a team similar to that of recent years, with players of great quality and can have 10 or 15 minutes in which they kill you. Barça scored three goals in seven minutes. But at home we are very strong, and we have to turn the match into our own. If we get the pressure right, we can get a return.”
