Four matches in La Liga Santander and the start of the Cup mark the end of the year of the players of Gaiza Garitano before concluding the first leg of the league in Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on January 3
Athletic faces since Sunday’s match against Granada the last month of the year, in which it will face powerful opponents outside. The red-and-white players will have four domestic matches (two in San Mames and as many away) before finishing December and beginning the journey in the King’s Cup 2019 against Intercity, who won this weekend 0-1 in Silla and remains second in their group of Third.
First of all, the lions will host one of the newly-promoted, Granada CF, the revelation team of the championship that has become the leader. The ‘Nazarí’ team will visit San Mamés in eighth position after confronting Atlético de Madrid in the last matchday. Athletic then will travel to Benito Villamarín to face Real Betis, who seem to be gradually finding their best version and recovered 2-1 at Valencia.
To conclude the month, Athletic will face, in front of its supporters, the last derby of the first leg against SD Eibar. The match against The Gunsmiths will be the last one that San Mamés will host in the first leg and, later on, will face the always difficult exit of the Santiago Bernabéu. Athletic Club will play in Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán against Sevilla FC in January, the last of the commitments before proceeding to the second leg of La Liga Santander. A month that seems exciting for the red-and-white supporters.
