Athletic Club has launched its official account on Weibo

The Club has now a presence on a Chinese social networking website with almost 500 million active users per month

Today, Athletic Club has launched its first official account on a Chinese networking website. With the creation of the club’s profile on the social network Sina Weibo, Athletic has become the seventeenth First Division team to have a presence in the aforementioned platform, which will allow them to increase their brand awareness in the Asian market.

Weibo is one of the most important social networks in the world. According to the latest statistics published, it has 497 million monthly active users and 217 million daily active users.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Club’s communications department and LaLiga, Athletic Club’s account in China will publish, apart from sports news, content addressed to the Chinese audience in order to make the distinctive club’s philosophy known, promoting its own background and culture. Athletic Club crosses borders and spreads the brand internationally in a market that is getting more and more interested in football.

Athletic Club’s official profile on Weibo adds to the other profiles the club has on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, which nowadays are followed by a total of about 2,400,000 people from 58 countries.
