Lezama says goodbye to 2019

Lezama says goodbye to 2019

Here a review of the home matches of the lionesses during this year in Lezama and San Mamés

Last Sunday Lezama made the closing for the first ladies’ team of Athletic Club. The field 2, the usual playing field of the lionesses, said goodbye until next year with a tie without goals between Athletic and Sevilla. The 2019 ends to give way to a 2020 that will begin with one of the most expected matches of the season: the visit of FC Barcelona next January 5 to San Mamés. But before that great appointment arrives, it is moment to make balance of the performance of the red-and-white team in home during this year.

Athletic Club has played 11 home games in League with a balance of 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats. It has managed to score 20 goals and conceded 10, so on average has been able to get almost two goals per game. The lionesses have obtained 60% of the possible points at home (21 of 33).

Outstanding has been during this 2019 the dispute of two games in the Cathedral. The first was played on January 30 against Atletico Madrid in the Copa de la Reina, achieving the record attendance of 48,121 spectators in a women’s game in Europe. In the League, on March 31, matchday 26 was played with a 2-0 local victory against Levante UD.
