“We face the match as a final”

Ángel Villacampa wants to finish 2019 as best as possible with a victory in Huelva that he “considers fundamental” to start the year well

Athletic Club’s coach, Ángel Villacampa, has given the press conference before the first ladies’ team takes off for Sevilla tomorrow and then travels to Huelva, where on Saturday at 4pm in La Orden they will face Sporting Club in the 14th matchday of league. The red-and-white team will train tomorrow, Friday, at 11.00 am in Lezama before closing the call-up in which they will not be the following injured: Ainhoa Tirapu, Jone Ibáñez, Marta Perea and Ainhoa Moraza, who suffered a slight sprain in the draw without goals against Sevilla FC.

Villacampa believes that they will have an uncomfortable opponent in front of them and that traditionally the Zurich team has not been good enough. “We consider that the draw last weekend was a small setback and that is why we are looking forward to the match and to close 2019 well. It will be a game with many similarities to the ones against Rayo or Granadilla because they are teams that are very strong at home; they get most points at home. Sporting de Huelva is an aggressive team and we will have to adapt to the field and above all make a good analysis of the match, as it happened against Rayo.”

Before the exigent 2020 arrives, the red-and-white coach has assured that the most important thing is to be able to close the year with the best feelings: “Our unique and exclusive pretension is to obtain the three points, that would take us to add 23 before the break of Christmas. We are very focused on getting them and finding our best version. We are facing the match as if it were a final. We have to get used to facing them all like that to achieve our goals and we need to get on the road to victory to leave with a clear conscience. We consider it fundamental for the future.”
