La Orden, last venue of the 2019

Athletic Club gets to the fields of La Orden in Huelva, a scenario that one of the lionesses, Damaris Egurrola, recalls in a negative way as she had to be taken by ambulance after a fortuitous collision in last season’s match. The match ended without goals and the Andalusian team was saved in extremis from relegation at the end of the course.

Both our lions and the rivals face each other after a draw on the last day of the Primera Iberdrola. Sporting Huelva is currently the least prolific team in the championship with only six goals in 13 matches, but they are a fearsome side at home. Athletic know this well, as they have suffered historically in the Huelva fiefdom. Their last victory there dates back to the 2015-2016 league title season, when Joseba Aguirre’s side won 2-0 with goals from Paulita into her own goal and Nekane.

This year, thanks to an agreement with Recreativo Huelva, Sporting Club could make use of the Nuevo Colombino for several matches. This will not be the case for the match against Athletic, which will be played on La Orden, with a new artificial turf. Antonio Toledo, the coach with the most matches in the women’s first division (more than 400), is still in charge of an Andalusian team that maintains the seal of a rocky team, which is why the duel for the lionesses is presumed to be uncomfortable and stuck.
