FC Barcelona and Athletic last faced each other at Camp Nou on 29 September 2018, drawing 1-1 in the match corresponding to the 7th match week in LaLiga 2018-19.
Óscar de Marcos grabbed his chance to score on 40 minutes, when he took advantage of a mistake made by the hosts’ defenders after receiving a great cross from Susaeta. Thanks to De Marcos, Berizzo’s lads went into break with a one-goal advantage (0-1).
The lions kept their advantage for the most part of the game, being capable of defending their goal from Barça’s attacks. However, Munir -who had just come out of the bench- managed to equalise a few minutes before the end. The Red and Whites did not have time to react and the final result was a draw. Athletic picked up a point from their last visit to Camp Nou, a stadium from which they had not taken any points since the 2003-04 season.
