Ainhoa Moraza and Lucía García to leave Athletic Club

The players turned down offers of new deals and will leave onces their contracts expire on June 30

Ainhoa Moraza and Lucía García have confirmed they will leave Athletic Club once their respective contracts come to an end on June 30, with both players having turned down offers to renew their deals.

The internationals received a memento at the traditional end-of-season meal at San Mamés on Saturday.

Ainhoa Moraza joined from Real Sociedad in 2015/16, a season in which Athletic Club won the league title. The defender from San Sebastian made 208 appearances and scored eight goals in the seven seasons she wore the red and white stripes.

Lucía García made her debut in September 2016 and played a total of 161 official matches as a Lioness. The striker, who came up through the ranks at Oviedo Moderno, scored 63 goals in her time at Athletic. She leaves Lezama after six seasons as a Lioness.

Both Moraza and Lucía García won international caps for Spain’s senior national team while playing for Athletic.
