RB Leipzig visit Lezama
Several coaches from the German team visited the Club’s facilities to study how our coaches work in the areas of methodology, physical preparation, psychology and recruitment
Lezama continues to be an attraction and point of interest for teams from across Europe. After the visits of SL Benfica and Toulouse FC, this week some coaches from RB Leipzig came to Athletic Club to learn about the working methodology used with the youth team.
The visiting group consisted of Tim Kroemer (U16 Coach), Alexander Portleroy (U15 Coach), Dennis Bockelmann (U14 Coach), Rene Hoenisch (U12 Coach), Paul Klein (U7-U12 Co-ordinator), Robert Friedrich (Head of Physical Preparation), Nils Gatzmaga (Sports Psychologist) and Jan Schaefer (Head of U8-U14).
The visit included several meetings and talks with the different people in charge of methodology, physical preparation, psychology and recruitment, among others. Andoni Ayarza, Assistant Director of Athletic Club’s Sports Area, and Andoni Bombín, Head of Methodology at the Club, oversaw the meetings and conferences.
In addition, the German coaches watched on at several of our youth teams’ training sessions.
