Yeray: "We want to go for all three points at the Camp Nou"

The centre-back is confident Athletic Club can cause an upset against FC Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou

Athletic Club centre-back Yeray Álvarez insisted Los Leones will not be intimidated when they face FC Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday night (21:00 CEST).

Despite going without a win in their last three fixtures, the Zurigorri are still unbeaten on the road this season, with two wins and two draws. Yeray reiterated that Athletic are more than capable of picking up a win in Barcelona.

"We're focused on the game," Yeray said at a press conference in Lezama on Friday afternoon. "We want to show the best version of ourselves and be a team that goes to the Camp Nou to get all three points.

"We'll go for the win the same as in every match and we'll look to control the game and take the initiative.

"This weekend will be no different. Our mentality has to be to press, win the ball back, attack and be as intense as possible."

Xavi Hernández's side head into the fixture off the back of a 3-0 win over Villarreal CF. Yeray stressed it would be remiss to focus too much on stopping a single opposition player, saying Los Culés will have "top-level players" throughout their starting XI.

The defender added: "We'll have to defend well against them all, in addition to being cohesive and pressing high as we have done in recent games.

"You can't place too much importance on one player or the team's recent form. If you think too much into the fact Barcelona have beaten a good team like Villarreal, and not in your own strengths, then you're going to lose heavily. We have to play with as much confidence as possible."
