The tough-tackling midfielder turned manager has become synonymous with Atlético Madrid since taking over in December 2011. As an Atlético player he won the Copa and LaLiga double in 1995/96, as head coach he's lifted two LaLiga titles (2013/14, 2020/21), one Copa del Rey (2012/13), two European Super Cups (2012, 2018) and two Europa Leagues (2011/12, 2017/18), in addition to two Champions League runners-up medals (2013/14, 2015/16).

It's been a busy window for Atlético, with plenty of new faces coming in: Julián Álvarez (forward, Man City), Connor Gallagher (midfielder, Chelsea), Robin Le Normand (defender, Real Sociedad), Alexander Sorloth (forward, Villarreal), Juan Musso (goalkeeper, Atlanta) and Clément Lenglet (defender, on loan from FC Barcelona).
