Ane Azkona renews contract until 2028

Athletic Club Women forward Ane Azkona, 27, has put pen to pen on a two-year deal to keep her in Bilbao until 30 June 2028.

The international made her Athletic debut in November 2016 and will celebrate a decade with the club in November. The Pamplona-born player will continue to be the player with most seasons and appearances in the current squad.

The Lioness admitted to being "very happy to stay here for two more seasons", saying: "I'm really excited to be staying at Athletic. I've been wearing this shirt for almost ten years now, and to do so for another two is a great honour for me.

"I joined when I was 18, very young, and today I'm one of the more experienced players in the squad. Over these ten years, I've grown both as a footballer and as a person."

Ane passed the 200-game mark this season, having played 208 official matches and scored 41 goals for Athletic so far.
