The audiovisual portal has been completely upgraded to offer the best selection of the Club’s video content
Athletic Play, Athletic’s audiovisual streaming platform, has been completely revamped. Starting this July, it offers a value-added service to the community and brings together the best selection of exclusive video content on demand, whilst also broadcasting live matches and the Club’s latest events.
The platform is fully accessible to all users, who will be able to browse the entire portal and view the various types of content, organised into sections. To access most of this content, you will need an Athletic Club digital account (the same one used to log in to ‘My Account’ or the ‘Members’ Txoko’). There will also be Premium content, restricted to Athletic Club members, such as full matches from the EA Sports La Liga and Liga F, extended highlights of the Lions’ league fixtures, and some of the most important full matches in the club’s history. The platform launches with almost 400 contents and over 200 hours of video available, with more to be added throughout the season.
Live coverage, news and historical content
Athletic Play is committed to offering a varied range of content which, in addition to historical videos, focuses on current affairs and live coverage of both the men’s first team and the youth teams.
As a result, the Athletic community will be able to enjoy several live broadcasts every weekend during the 2026/27 season:
- A special programme broadcast from the stadium where the Lions play their league matches
Featuring live commentary of the match and pre- and post-match interviews in a programme lasting over 3 hours. - Live broadcasts of youth team matches every weekend
With a special focus on the women’s reserve team following their recent promotion to the 1st Federation, CD Basconia in their home matches in the 2nd Federation, and the Under-19s Division of Honour in their matches at Lezama.
In addition, the Athletic Play offering will be complemented with content related to the Club and Foundation's current affairs, providing the weekly press conferences of the coach and footballers during the week in the sport section, along with the best match highlights and exclusive interviews and reports with the players.
Historical content will also be a priority on the platform. Highlights from historic matches and a selection of some of the most important matches in the Club's history will be available.
Athletic Play is available on any mobile or desktop device, either via links from the Club's official channels or directly at play.athletic-club.eus. The signal can also be cast from a mobile phone to a television via a button that will appear on each video, using the most popular streaming technologies, Google Chromecast or Apple AirPlay.
