"‘It’s another step forward for the team’"

‘I want to separate the result from the performance. I think the performance, especially in the first half, was good. We deserved more, but it’s a draw at home and that’s why we’re disappointed,’ said Edin Terzić after the 1-1 draw against Elche CF at San Mamés. 

Regarding the goal conceded, Terzić emphasised that “if you concede a goal like that, it’s clear you have to score at least two to win – it’s not as easy as it seems. We tried hard to gain more control, but the difference lay in our effectiveness in attack. We’re not yet at the level we want to be, but I’m sure we’ll be there soon,” he assured.

Finally, when asked whether the result represented a step backwards, the German manager was clear: “I don’t think it is; it’s another step forward. Now we have to prepare for Wednesday’s match against Levante UD. I saw a team that fought from the first minute right through to the end. If we carry on like this, we’re sure to get good results.”
