Edin Terzić expressed confidence in his players despite the disappointing result in the derby against Deportivo Alavés. Athletic lacked fluidity and precision, something the German manager hopes to change during these weeks’ break from competition:

“We need to play complete matches, not just dominate certain aspects of the game. We’re frustrated and unhappy at not being able to win, but the good thing is precisely that we are – that this team wants more.” 

Athletic now have a break from competitive fixtures for several weeks. This is time to continue emphasising the ideas and concepts that the Zurigorri manager wants to instil in his players:
