Terzic: “We’re focused on ourselves and our performances”

Edin Terzić admitted that Athletic Club are “not in the situation where want to be” but reiterated that the staff and players are facing up to the challenge.

The Lions have an opportunity to get back to winning ways this Sunday as they host José Bordalas’ Getafe CF at San Mames (14:00 CET).

“If you’re at a big club and you don’t win three matches in a row the pressure increases,” the gaffer said at his pre-match press conference.

“But the most important thing is not what we say before a game but what we do in the game. My job is to find solutions not excuses.

“We’re focused on ourselves and our performances. We’ve not been happy with the results since Atlético and Celta but we’ve also seen some good things. Now we need to focus on removing the errors.”

Getafe are winless in their last four matches, but Edin stressed that Athletic need to concentrate on their own game and can’t take anything for granted.

He said: “The potential they have and the way the manager likes to play is clear. It’s not easy to win against a team like Getafe. They play very well-organised and intense football. It’s going to be a tough challenge.”

The gaffer is happy to be returning to San Mames after "a long time” playing on the road, adding: “We are really looking forward to playing at home and improving our level.”
