Terzić: “We're really pleased and we'll build on this”

Edin Terzić praised his players after a 4-0 home over Getafe CF win at San Mames. A match which the gaffer said "they had to win".

The Lions got back to winning ways in LaLiga by putting the Madrid side to the sword, scoring two goals either side of the break in a completely dominant display.

“It was a match we had to win and that’s what we set out to show right from the start," he said. "We had some really good spells during the game and performed very well as a team.

“Three points are always good. I like to win even in training. I’ve probably been the most disappointed person over the last few weeks at not being able to win.  

"Today there were some very good moments for the team as a whole and for some players individually. We’re very pleased and we’ll build on this. If we play like we did today, we’ll have more good moments. We’ve taken a positive step forward.”  

Apart from the scoreline, the fixture produced some real highlights for the Lions, including official debuts for Christian Imga and Jesus Vizcay.

“I’d like to congratulate them – the players, their families and the people of Lezama,” said the Zurigorri head coach about the young players and all their hard work.

“Their playing time today isn’t a gift - they’ve earned it. Over the past few weeks, they’ve shown us that they’re ready and will be a great help to us.”.
