The 2026 goalkeeper of the year sat down for an in-depth conversation with Athletic Talks, Athletic Club's official podcast
Unai Simón is the special guest for episode three of Athletic Talks, Athletic Club's official podcast.
Previous episodes have featured Gorka Guruzeta and Luis de la Fuente.
The latest instalment is available to watch for free, exclusively on Athletic Play, Athletic Club’s video-on-demand service, and is also now available on YouTube and Spotify.
The podcast with Unai Simón was recorded at San Mames just 48 hours after he was named the 2026 goalkeeper of the year at the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony, which held in London.
The goalkeeper looks back on everything he experienced during that historic moment in which a Zurigorri player was crowned winner, for the first time, at football's most prestigious award ceremony. In this fascinating 90-minute conversation with Ager Sardui and Etxahun Gonzalez, Unai discusses his football career and personal life in detail.
