RCD Espanyol - Athletic Club

Two goals by Nekane and the third by Erika Vázquez have given the first victory away from Lezama to Joseba Agirre’s team that has won 1-2 against RCD Espanyol. Maria was the local scorer.

Athletic had a good start with a header from Nekane after Lucia Garcia’s pass. The red-and-white side was able to increase their lead with Erika Vazquez’s shot in the small area although unfortunately the ball went over the crossbar.

Two minutes later, Maria surprised Ainhoa with a cross from the right flank that slipped into the far post. In the 38th minute, luck was not on the red-and-whites’ side as a free kick taken by Erika bounced off Mariajo’s left post.

After the break, Erika’s first shot was not accurate enough. The Navarrese player surprised Mariajo in the 73th minute with a shot from thirty metres. Three minutes later, Eunate crossed from the flank and Moraza’s header narrowly went high. Despite pressure from the local team in the final moments, Athletic got the three points.
