The opponents

League position: 6th

Head coach: Luis García Plaza

A well travelled coach, Luis García has managed no less than 12 sides (some in two separate spells) during his career in the dugout, including stints in UAE (Baniyas), China (Beijing Renhe) and Saudi Arabia (Al-Shabab).

He joined Mallorca in August last season and led them to second place in LaLiga Smartbank, ensuring an instant return to top-flight football for the Balaeric islanders.

Star man: Fer Niño

Currently on loan at Son Moix from Villarreal, the marksman has made a big impression since arriving at the club.

The 6ft 3in striker made a goalscoring debut in the Matchday 2 fixture against Deportivo Alaves.

What’s more Niño’s father -also named Fernando- played at the heart of Mallorca’s defence for seven years from 1998-2005.
