The youngsters doing first-team pre-season
Agirrezabala, Prados, Artola, Nico Williams and Serrano have started pre-season with the first team.
Five footballers who played for Bilbao Athletic last season took part in the senior side’s first pre-season training session on Tuesday evening. They’ll be with the first-team for the rest of pre-season, including the training camp in Switzerland.
The youth team players who currently training with the first team include: goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala (in the centre), midfielder Beñat Prados (on his right) as well as forwards Juan Artola (first on the left), Nico Williams (first on the right) and Nico Serrano (second from the left).
Nico Williams -Iñaki’s brother- already made his debut as a Lion under Marcelino last season. Meanwhile, Prados and Serrano were part of the first team’s pre-season under Gaizka Garitano last summer, playing several friendly matches.
In addition to the Cubs, Alex Petxarroman did his first training session an Athletic player yesterday, and Dani Vivian, who has returned to Athletic Club after playing on loan at LaLiga Smartbank side CD Mirandés last season, also trained with Marcelino’s side on Tuesday.
