Alex Petxarroman makes his Athletic Club debut

On Sunday night, right-back Alex Petxarroman replaced Oscar de Marcos in the 79th minute of the derby, becoming the 631st Lion to make his Athletic Club debut. The San Sebastian-native was involved during the last few minutes of the derby, as Athletic found an equaliser despite being a man down.

Alex is the fourth Lions to pull on a the red and white stripes for the first time this campaign. Nico Serrano -who made his debut against RCD Mallorca at San Mamés- Julen Agirrezabala and Dani Vivian -who made their debuts against Elche at the Martínez Valero- are the other Lions to make full senior debuts in 2021-22.

With Nico Williams, who made his debut in last season’s LaLiga Matchday 33 fixture against Real Valladolid CF- added to the list, five players have now been given debuts by Marcelino.
