Sevilla comes back in San Mames

Capa scored for Athletic Club before Banega’s and Munir’s goals (1-2)

Athletic Club was defeated against Sevilla FC in San Mames by 1-2. The Spanish team thus breaks its streak of nine consecutive losses in Bilbao and complicates Athletic’s European options. Banega and Munir scored Andalusian goals after Capa had reached local goal.

During the first part of the game, Yuri was injured, something that did not stop the lions. Balenziaga took his place. The goal was originated by a Sancet’s good pass on Vesga, who found Capa in the edge of the area. The defender from Portugalete intuitively appeared to masterfully cross the ball with the right.

Muniain had the chance to score the second goal at the end of the first half, but he missed the opportunity.

After the half-time break, the lions had a good start with a chance for Cordoba in a corner. Sevilla was gaining ground on the back of Banega. Simón temporarily supported the team with a great save to Ocampos.

First, Banega scored with a masterful direct free kick and then Munir reach the second goal. Even so, Muniain had the tie in the 85’, but Bono saved it.
