Athletic Club has been able to defeat Mallorca by 2-1. Aduriz and Llorente have been the goal scorers for our team while Giovani scored for the visitors. With this result mathematical calm at the end of this matchday still remains at the expense of a defeat of Granada along with a draw or defeat of Osasuna.

Today, in a sunny Catedral, the rojiblancos have not materialized their best match of the season, far from it, even though after the one-nil scored by Aduriz they had everything in their favour, more so when the referee indicated a penalty and Fontás was sent off with a double yellow. Nevertheless, Aouate’s save and Muniain’s goal which was unjustly disallowed after the rebound, brought about a negative turning point and Mallorca adapted far better to the characteristics of the match.

Even the two to nil, scored by Llorente in the final stretch of the match, didn’t calm the waters, since Giovani skilfully scored from a free kick, and from then until the final whistle the anguish extended.
