Athletic Club beat Córdoba CF 1-0 away at the Nuevo Arcángel. Beñat scored the winning goal in the second half.

It was not an attractive match, with a good start from the red-and-whites which was overshadowed as the minutes passed with a better performance from the locals. There were chances, some of them very clear, in both goal areas, but only a shot by Beñat from outside the box ended up in the goal.

Three points for a total of 46, with added pressure on Malaga in the fight for seventh place.

The downside was Ibai’s injury to his left shoulder and the fifth yellow card for Etxeita, which will prevent him from lining up against Real Sociedad next Tuesday at San Mames.
