Athletic Club defeated 2-1 Real Club Celta at San Mamés. Aduriz (by penalty) and Raúl García were the scorers of our goals. Orellana scored the visiting team’s opening goal.

We got very relevant three points against a direct rival and we are again fifth in the scoreboard. There are two matches left until the end of the season and Athletic is fifth after winning a difficult game.

We can say that Athletic Club took advantage of the match. The first attempt was for the visiting team, who scored the opening goal when less than a quarter of an hour of the match had gone. The duel continued being similar, but it’s true that there are some plays that can change all the match, and this is what it happened at San Mamés just on the stroke of the first half when Cabral knocked down Aduriz and referee blowed penalty and our striker made it. One minute later Cabral was sent off for crushing Aduriz while he was lying on the pitch.

A new match and with big patience, the second goal arrived as Raúl García finished well the cross from Williams.

There are two matches to finish the league and we are fighting to keep fifth in the scoreboard; there are already six points difference with the seventh. Our next duel, crucial, will be on Sunday in Las Palmas.
