Athletic Club were unable to win a 25th Copa title after being defeated 3-0 in the final held at the Vicente Calderón stadium. Unfortunately an excellent season in the League, UEFA Europa League and Copa competitions could not be endorsed with a distinction. And numerical superiority in the stands and in the streets of Madrid was not reflected on the field of play. Just like in 1977, a season in which the team reached two finals but without a single trophy. That’s football.
Now it’s time to think about the upcoming season with the hope of once again savouring historical nights of this season which has just finished.
