Athletic Club has  added three points in Liga after defeating RCD Mallorca 0-1 in Son Moix. Aduriz, with a header, from a pass by Iraola, scored only goal in the first quarter hour of the match. From that point on, Caparrós’ men had their best occasions, almost all of which originated from set-pieces, but they all found an inspired Gorka Iraizoz.

In the second half, Mallorca also came out quite determined, but our team was able to take control of the game as minutes passed and, finally, it has been able to take home three very important points which they celebrated on the pitch itself with the Rojiblanco fans.

In addition, the team has finished with a clean sheet for the second consecutive time. In fact, it is the fifth time it has finished with a clean sheet so far this Liga season, although the previous four times this had occurred it had San Mamés as witness. On the contrary, although several clear occasions were created and Aouate’s goal was reached assiduously and with certain superiority, there was a lack of clarity when it came time to scoring the goal.

On the other hand, we would like to point out that, in addition to the return of Iraola and Gurpegi to the playing fields, Susaeta has completed his cycle with his fifth yellow card and, thus, he won’t be able to play on Saturday in San Mamés (22:00 hours) against Zaragoza; a match that will serve as a farewell to this bittersweet 2012.
