Athletic Club has obtained its fourth consecutive Liga victory after defeating Real Club Celta by 1-2. Aduriz from a penalty and San Jose, both in the first half, have been the authors of the goals for our team, whereas Larrivey, in the second, scored for the locals.

It is a well-deserved yet enduring victory to reach 36 points on the table. In the first half, Athletic did all it could to keep the advantage on the scoreboard and in the second, in spite of having a similar amount of occasions as the rival, we must admit that Celta got tougher, however our team was able to overcome the losses of Aduriz, due to injury, and San Jose, in this case when he was booked with a second yellow card. On a more positive aspect, we should point out Iturraspe’s return to the playing field.

The objective to reach 42 points as soon as possible is even closer and to do so our next encounter is the visit of UD Almeria to San Mamés on Saturday, 21 March, at 22:00 hours.
