Athletic Club has been defeated 0-1 against Atlético de Madrid at San Mamés. The author of the unique goal has been Torres.

The match was levelled, with not many attempts, and led by the effectiveness of a team which is up in the table. Today, taking the initiative was not enough. During the first half of the match and still with the nil-nil and the local team was bossing the duel. However, when a little bit more than half an hour of the match was gone, in the first attempt of the guests, the header by Torres allowed the visiting team to lead the encounter.

During the second half, Atlético de Madrid was very strong at the back and our players didn’t create clear efforts. Atlético de Madrid has never failed in our new stadium.

We are in the fifth position on the table, however, we do not have the mathematical certainty to be in Europe next season yet. Let’s hope we get it on Sunday against Levante.
