Deportivo Alavés - Athletic Club

Athletic Club lost 3-1 against Deportivo Alavés at Mendizorroza. Iker Muniain scored the goal for our team and Guidetti, Munir and Ibai Gómez scored for the home team.

If we look at the final result, it may seem that the superiority of the Alavés team was evident not only in the scoreboard but also in the game. 

That was not the case and our team has unfortunately shown that, in this season, which has one weekend left, any small chance our team has is followed with bad luck.

And so it was, after a first half in which a 0-2, for example, would not have surprised anyone, but has ended 1-0 after a pass from Kepa, after bouncing on Guidetti, ended up as a goal. 

It was the 44th minute after a number of clear goalscoring options had been squandered. The second half has started, again, with a red-and-white domination, but has soon been turned in another isolated play, this time with a goal of Munir.

From then on, Alavés has started to feel more comfortable. Ibai Gomez has made it 3-0 and Muniain has reduced distances, without time for much more.

Next Sunday the LaLiga comes to a close against Espanyol in San Mamés, a match in which Mikel Rico, injured today, and Iñigo Martinez won’t play, after seeing his fifth yellow card.
